JOB TITLE: Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer II

LOCATION: Savannah, GA

PAY RATE: $55/hour

Summary:

  • Prepare, conduct, and evaluate analyses to improve manufacturing processes and resolve production issues, including layout, production flow, tooling, equipment, material fabrication, assembly methods, and planning in a Production or Post-Production environment.

  • Conduct technical studies and analyze operations; recommend equipment and optimized manufacturing methods for complex assemblies and components.

  • Author detailed work instructions and DRDI/DMT rework instructions; create MBOM in SAP/Solumina/Corridor as applicable.

  • Conduct research and analysis to ensure conformance to requirements.

  • Prepare justification for equipment and facility requests; perform producibility studies from engineering drawings.

  • Apply statistical methods to forecast manufacturing requirements and generate reports.

  • Prioritize workloads, estimate completion dates, and allocate resources effectively.

  • Stay current on manufacturing developments and integrate Lean Manufacturing methodologies.

  • Develop business cases for process improvements; lead project implementation across multiple organizations.

  • Assign, supervise, and train subordinate personnel; assume ME Group Head duties in their absence.

  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to improve manufacturing processes.

  • Support Safety, Sustainability, and Ergonomic initiatives.

  • Ensure quality policies are followed and recommend improvements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 18+ months of manufacturing engineering, planning, or related technical experience.

  • Proven knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.

  • Understanding of engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint reading, and shop math.

  • Proficiency with CADAM, CATIA, Solumina, SAP, Corridor, and other computerized systems.

  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing concepts (5S, JIT, SMED, KanBan, VSM, One Piece Flow).

  • Data-driven decision-making skills (Six Sigma experience highly desirable).

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
