POSITION SUMMARY

The Event Sales Director role will be responsible for leading and managing the sales team across the US to achieve revenue targets by selling private dining spaces at our multiple locations. This roles involves developing and implementing sales strategies, building client relationships, managing the sales team and overseeing the entire sales process from initial inquiry to contract closure. The Event Sales Director will participate in strategic planning and fostering relationships with clients and vendors.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to understand goals and audiences.
  • Develop and implement event strategies that align with the organization’s objectives including identifying new business opportunities and market segments.
  • Develop and manage event budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients to understand their event needs, preferences and budgets, to provide tailored solutions and secure repeat business.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, sponsors and other stakeholders throughout the event planning process.
  • Oversee the entire event cycle, from initial inquiry to contract negotiation and event execution in partnership with the event sales team.
  • Craft and execute plans to achieve revenue targets for all event types.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and manage relationships to ensure successful event execution.
  • Manage, provide guidance, mentorship and support to the sales team to achieve individual and team sales goals.
  • Lead, motivate and manage a high-performing sales team, providing guidance, coaching and performance management.
  • Act as a centralized resource for event sales team by providing strategic oversight, prioritizing workload and identifying opportunities to leverage systems and procedures.
  • Oversee the entire sales process for all markets.
  • Develop and oversee the organization’s event management platform.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 7+ years of progressive event sales experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or hospitality venue. Multi-unit a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple complex events and vendor relationships simultaneously, including contract negotiation and performance oversight.
  • Experience leading and mentoring an events team, providing strategic direction, professional development, and hands-on coaching to ensure high performance and collaboration.
  • Strong strategic and executional balance—able to operate at both the macro planning level and in hands-on event delivery.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to juggle high-priority, time-sensitive initiatives in a fluid, deadline-driven environment.
  • Skilled in problem-solving and issue resolution, with a proactive mindset and follow-through until resolution.
  • Experience working directly with C-level executives and senior leadership, including supporting executive visibility at events.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable team player, capable of independently managing workload while contributing to long-term planning and growth of the event program.
  • Proficiency in event management platforms, quick learner, eager to continuously develop new skills.
  • Willingness and excitement to travel as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and eloquently, both verbal and written, collaboration skills with a demonstrated high degree of emotional intelligence to manage and lead a diverse team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. 
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs at times.
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the work area and property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment. 
  • Climbing steps regularly 
  • Prolonged periods standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this position is between $95,000-$100,000 per annum plus commission. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
