System One is seeking a Fuel Handling Project Coordinator to support our client’s advanced nuclear program.
This role will focus on project performance management —including cost, schedule, and risk tracking—for fuel handling and related systems within a large, complex nuclear project.

The Project Coordinator will manage performance at the control account (cost code) level where scope, schedule, and budget intersect, ensuring technical teams are aligned with baseline objectives.

Responsibilities

Project & Performance Management

  • Conduct regular performance reviews of assigned control accounts (budget, schedule, resources).

  • Track progress, identify underperforming areas, and develop corrective action or recovery plans.

  • Support cost and schedule variance analysis and recommend mitigations.

  • Prepare variance reports and provide explanations to the Project Manager as needed.

Budget & Cost Control

  • Monitor and analyze earned value (EV), actual costs, and time-phased budgets.

  • Coordinate with Project Controls to ensure cost data accuracy and performance reporting integrity.

  • Assist with estimating, forecasting, and development of cost-at-completion reports.

Schedule Management

  • Collect activity updates from engineering teams for the Integrated Master Control Schedule (IMCS).

  • Lead the planning process for assigned work scopes, including sequencing, dependencies, and interfaces.

  • Support Project Change Notices (PCNs) and reforecasting activities.

  • Coordinate implementation of schedule updates within IMCS.

Risk & Resource Management

  • Identify and monitor project management-related risks; ensure the risk register remains current.

  • Track staffing and resource plans with the Control Account Manager (CAM).

  • Monitor team performance against schedule baselines and resource forecasts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 6+ years of direct project management experience supporting complex capital projects ($20M+).

  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles preferred.

  • PMP certification and/or MBA preferred.

  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 or MS Project required.

  • Experience using Atlassian collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.) a plus.

  • Strong understanding of engineering project life cycles and performance management.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.

  • High level of integrity, teamwork, and accountability.

Additional Details

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Minimal travel required (0–15%).
