Job Description

As Plant Manager of Dart's Quitman, MS manufacturing facility, you will oversee approximately 200 employees and work closely with the Plant Leadership Team (PLT) to develop and implement new and improved operations and processes, all with a committed focus on safety, quality, service and cost. Your role also entails leading the plant’s continuous improvement plan, conducting regular reviews with the PLT to assess progress, analyze problems, facilitate solutions, identify resources and adjust plans as needed. 

We need a change leader with a true production mindset and experience leading continuous improvement initiatives, recognizing and growing talent and has the desire and ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment. In this role, you can expect open lines of communication both within the plant and with senior leadership. Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership Excellence: Guide and inspire your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Innovate and Implement: Collaborate with the PLT to design and execute operations and processes, prioritizing safety, quality, service, and cost-efficiency.
  • Strategic Oversight: Lead the plant’s continuous improvement plan, conducting regular reviews with the PLT to assess progress, analyze challenges, facilitate solutions, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Problem Solver: Identify and address operational issues, ensuring smooth and efficient plant operations.
  • Multi-Shift Management: Oversee operations across four 12 hour shifts, ensuring 24/7 coverage and efficiency.

 

What we are looking for: 

  • Proven management of large-scale operations 200+ employees for an extended period.
  • Experience with extrusion and thermoforming processes and quality standards. 
  • Lean Methodologies showcasing proficiency in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Financial experience showing cost savings initiatives to maintain the financial health of the manufacturing facility and contribute to its overall success.
  • Ability to effectively manage stress and maintain composure in high-pressure situations.

What you’ll need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related field with seven (7) years of manufacturing operations management or leadership assignments demonstrating a progression of increased scope and responsibility. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 
  • Five (5) years of experience managing employees with supervisory responsibilities
  • Lean manufacturing experience and e xperience managing multi-shift
  • Ability to be on-call 24/7
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, cost analysis and budgeting, people management, and leadership guidance
  • Displays strong interpersonal skills and is accessible and approachable
  • Experience managing multi-shift or continuous operations, preferred
  • Chemical or plastics processing, or packaging industrial experience, preferred
