Position Description
Our Engineering & Construction (E&C) Business Unit is seeking a Project Manager to join the team in Juno Beach, FL . This position is responsible for daily project coordination of internal and external resources to support Development, Engineering, Estimating, Supply Chain, Scheduling, and Construction activities from pre-construction (Early Stage) through the Construction phase for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects within the Engineering and Construction Business Unit (E&C).
Day-to-Day Activities (Include but are not limited to):
- Critical coordination of highly matrixed project development teams to ensure resources are focused on the right activity at the right time to meet project schedules
- Coordinate with environmental, regulatory, cultural, land acquisition, interconnection, and related teams to ensure all project variables are identified and incorporated
- Develop the project's technical scope
- Optimize project variables to improve both technical and financial feasibility
- Support origination and development teams with PPA and GIA negotiations
- Support development teams with jurisdictional requirements
- Coordinate engineering, estimating, and procurement requirements
- Support the E&C engineering team with technical attributes for design development
- Support the E&C cost estimating team in developing financial models
- Actively seek and leverage market data to ensure financial models remain healthy
- Present financial models to respective business units and manage them through executive budget approvals
- Competitively source, negotiate, and execute commercial contracts for critical services, including geotechnical, survey, engineering, and EPC/PC construction services
- Uphold and represent E&C's interests on assigned projects
- Utilize various software applications to manage data, deliverables, and report on key indicators
- Support process improvements and efficiency initiatives to scale for growth
- Communicate and interface with Executive Leadership, Suppliers, Regulatory Agencies, Local Communities, and other stakeholders
- Present project progress and risk mitigation strategies to various levels of management
- Ensure projects transitioning to the Construction phase are handed over to the Construction Project Manager with a complete and executable construction plan
Project Scope & Travel
- This role involves managing multiple projects at various stages
- Current project portfolio spans the United States and Canada
- Occasional travel is required to visit project locations and support Development with local public hearings
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong project management, communication, financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Finance/Accounting
- Experience in renewable energy engineering and construction projects
- Experience with electricity markets, renewables, and/or battery projects
- PMP Certification
- Advanced Excel skills
