Shift & Schedule:
Night Shift: 7:30 PM to 8:00 AM
Full-time night shifts including weekends and holidays as assigned
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse for a night shift assignment. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in maternal and child health, strong IV insertion and phlebotomy skills, and proficiency in conscious sedation procedures. This role involves providing high-quality care to critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced ICU environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct nursing care to pediatric ICU patients
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and vital signs accurately
Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
Perform IV insertions and phlebotomy with precision and safety
Provide conscious sedation care following established protocols
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
Educate and support patients’ families on care and recovery processes
Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies and urgent situations
Required Experience & Skills:
Minimum 2 years of experience in maternal and child health nursing
Proficient IV insertion and phlebotomy skills
Experience with conscious sedation procedures
Certifications & Education:
Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License (Primary Source Verified)
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Current AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
