Job Description

Cedar Park Med is hiring experienced Registered Nurses for a Adult Cardiac/Trauma Surgical Step Down Unit. This is a high-acuity setting ideal for nurses with trauma and surgical experience who thrive in fast-paced environments.

Schedule/Shift: 13 week contract. 12hrs, Night Shifts available. Every other weekend and some holidays required; set schedules, no time off requests longer than 7 days granted.

Position Overview:
As an RN on our Cardiac/Trauma Surgical Step Down Unit, you will provide high-quality care for patients recovering from cardiac and trauma-related surgical procedures. You will be responsible for accurate patient assessments, continuous monitoring, and implementing treatment plans with minimal orientation and supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in a Level 1 or 2 trauma acute care facility.

  • Perform nursing assessments, develop care plans, and monitor patient status.

  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.

  • Document patient care accurately in the EPIC Electronic Medical Records system.

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and staff.

Requirements:

  • Current New York State RN license.

  • BLS certification (with ability to renew as required).

  • Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care experience (within the past 2 years) in a hospital of similar size and level.

  • Previous experience in Level 1 or 2 trauma facilities required.

  • EPIC EMR experience preferred.
