Job Description

SPORTIME owns and operates 17 tennis, pickleball, sports, camp and fitness clubs across NYS, including sites across Long Island, in Westchester, Manhattan and the Capital Region and New Jersey. Several of these locations currently feature both dedicated and/or “blended” pickleball courts, and offer court-time, instruction and related programs. SPORTIME is in the active process of creating and scaling its new pickleball division, the purpose of which is to own or lease, and operate, dedicated indoor and outdoor pickleball sites in our current markets and in others nearby. 

JOB SUMMARY
To source, secure, coordinate and facilitate pickleball special events at all SPORTIME Pickleball locations. Events may include large tournaments, charity events, milestone celebrations, corporate parties and networking functions, etc. This role requires managing all aspects of events, including communication with event hosts, catering partners and local municipalities where applicable, and the SPORTIME management staffs at each location to ensure that all events meet our 5-star standard.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Source, sell and manage large pickleball special events at multiple SPORTIME locations
• Serve as key contact point for event hosts prior, during and after each event
• Recruit corporate and outside sale leads through digital and telephone solicitation and site visits 
• Create relationships with pickleball organizations to create tournament and event opportunities 
• Work with SPORTIME marketing team to create collateral materials to sell and promote special events
• Understand facility and event budgets to ensure that events generate the highest net revenue possible 
• Provide weekly and monthly corporate sales reports as required

SKILLS REQUIRED: 

• Previous experience in event management/planning and/or sports tournament management
• Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
• Sales and or marketing experience
• Strong telemarketing skills
• Creative ability to develop programs and initiatives that develop event sales and qualified leads
• Excellent people skills 
• Guest service experience.
• Experience in administering a budget and tracking sales and leads
• Interest and/or knowledge of pickleball and the pickleball industry a plus

COMPENSATION: $65,000 + commission per year 

SCHEDULE:  Full-time - must be available to attend most large scale SPORTIME Pickleball events.

Premiums are deducted pre-tax from employees’ gross pay; Sportime contributes to the premiums of employees based upon gross pay thresholds.

401k Plan with employer match – Employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime’s 401k retirement plan, with matching, after they have completed one year of continuous service, worked at least 1000 hours in such calendar or anniversary year, and are over 21 years old (matching restrictions apply based on annual salary).
