Job Description

Embark on a transformative journey as a Sterile Processing Tech in Bangor, Maine, where your precision and vigilance safeguard patient care from the moment instruments enter the decontamination area to their return to the sterile field. In this essential specialty, you’re not merely handling devices—you’re ensuring sterile integrity that underpins safe surgeries, supports clinicians, and elevates patient outcomes. Your daily contributions reduce infection risk, streamline OR readiness, and reinforce the backbone of high-quality perioperative care. This is a role for meticulous problem solvers who take pride in quality, accuracy, and the quiet confidence that comes from knowing your work directly shapes the safety and efficiency of every procedure. If you’re drawn to a field that combines hands-on technical mastery with meaningful patient impact, this opportunity in Maine offers a compelling path to grow, learn, and lead within a respected healthcare network.

Bangor, Maine sits at the confluence of friendly neighborhoods, cultural charm, and easy access to outdoor adventures. You’ll experience a pace that’s invigorating yet livable, with a community feel that makes every shift feel supported. When you’re not on assignment, you can explore the riverfront, wander local trails, or discover the region’s rich history and vibrant arts scene. And while Bangor anchors your Maine experience, the role also offers the unique possibility of traveling to diverse facilities across the United States, expanding your professional horizon while you maintain roots in a state renowned for its natural beauty and four-season appeal. The state’s breathtaking coastlines, forests, and mountain landscapes offer inspiring backdrops for balance and renewal, making it easier to bring your best self to work every day.

Location benefits go beyond a single site. In Bangor, you’ll enjoy access to excellent healthcare networks, educational opportunities, and community resources that support personal and professional well-being. The travel model also enables you to apply your Sterile Processing expertise in a variety of environments—urban medical centers, regional hospitals, and specialty facilities—each with its own workflows, instrumentation sets, and quality standards. This exposure accelerates skill refinement, expands your professional network, and strengthens your adaptability. Across the U.S., you’ll encounter different sterilization technologies, load configurations, and regulatory nuances, all of which sharpen your problem-solving abilities and elevate your credentials. Whether you stay close to home or venture to other regions, you’ll benefit from comprehensive support, competitive compensation, and a clear path to expanded opportunities within a robust travel-healthcare ecosystem.

In this role, your key responsibilities will center on the full life cycle of instrument processing. You’ll expertly decontaminate and clean instrumentation, inspect for wear or damage, assemble and wrap trays for sterilization, and operate validated sterilization methods (steam, high-level disinfection, and where applicable alternative modalities). You’ll manage instrumentation tracking and load verification, maintain meticulous documentation for regulatory compliance, and uphold rigorous infection prevention standards and safety protocols. Your contributions keep OR schedules efficient, reduce turnaround times, and help ensure that clinicians have the precise tools they need, when they need them. The position offers meaningful room for professional growth—from mastering additional sterilization modalities to pursuing certifications or advancing into lead tech or supervisory roles. The compensation package reflects a commitment to recognizing skill, reliability, and the essential nature of the work. You’ll also receive a bonus opportunity, housing assistance, and chances for contract extensions, all designed to support your stability and progression. Importantly, you’ll have 24/7 support while traveling with the company, ensuring you’re never navigating a challenging assignment alone.

Our company values empower your career while cultivating a supportive, collaborative environment. We believe in recognizing expertise, investing in ongoing education, and promoting from within wherever possible. You’ll operate within teams that respect the unique contributions of Sterile Processing Techs, value clear communication, and encourage proactive problem-solving. This is more than a job—it’s a pathway to sustained professional development, mentorship, and leadership readiness. We’re committed to helping you advance, while also prioritizing your well-being and work-life balance as you embark on assignments that combine challenging clinical practice with the opportunity to explore new communities and settings.

If you’re ready to leverage your sterile processing expertise in a role that blends stability with exploration, we invite you to apply. Start date is January 19, 2026, and engagements are week-to-week assignments with guaranteed hours, typically structured to provide 40 hours per week. The weekly pay range for this position is $1,088-$1,145, with pathways to extensions and continued assignments across our network. This is your chance to join a compassionate team that respects your skill, values your growth, and supports your professional trajectory while you experience the unique beauty and hospitality of Maine and the broader travel opportunities across the U.S. Ready to elevate your impact and advance your career? Apply now to join a company that’s as committed to your development as you are to patient care.

Please note: The hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.
